Headlines across gaming websites are claiming that Fable 4 could appear in 2018 or 2019.
A number of rumors about the development of Fable 4 — and a possible 2018 release — have surfaced recently. Here are some of them:
- On August 20, 2017, Phil Spencer wrote on Twitter that the Fable series was not dead; the tweet appears to have been deleted later;
- in October 2017, Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis expressed her love for the Fable series and her desire to see it revived in an interview with GameSpot;
- in January 2018, rumors about Fable 4 development began coming from several sources. On January 6, former Lionhead employee Don Williamson wrote on Twitter that he knew which studio was developing the game, then deleted his tweet. On January 7, 2018, Charles Edwards described his own concerns about the upcoming Fable 4 on Twitter. It appeared that Playground Games might be the developer.
