Rumor: Bowerstone Could Be Destroyed in One New Fable Ending
Language: EN | RU
One of the endings of the new Fable may involve the destruction of Bowerstone, Reddit user FE4IZ has suggested.
The author of a February 1 post rewatched the Developer_Direct presentation on a large 4K monitor and spotted the name of an asset at the 29-second mark: BOOK_ILLUSTRATION_EPILOGUE_BOWERSTONE AFTERMATH_DESTROYED.psd.
He noted that the wording seems fairly unambiguous, although it could also refer to an unused idea or simply be placeholder text.
The game was shown at Xbox Developer_Direct in late January in a full 12-minute segment. The presentation confirmed an autumn 2026 release window on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5 and revealed many gameplay features. The game will feature an open world, a choice of the Hero’s gender, character customization and many mechanics familiar from the series, including jobs, buying homes and interacting with NPCs.
Soon after the presentation, game director Ralph Fulton gave two interviews, with Xbox Wire and IGN. Among other things, he discussed the core elements of Fable and explained how morality will work in the new game, without horns and halos changing the Hero’s appearance. He also revealed that the next Fable will not feature a dog, while more than a thousand NPCs were created by hand. The official FAQ also confirms that Fable will not have multiplayer.
According to the official timeline, Fable has been in development for more than five years — at least since 2020. It was originally planned for release in 2025, but its launch was later tied to Xbox’s 25th anniversary in autumn 2026.
