IGN: New Fable Is Being Developed on the ForzaTech Engine
Language: EN | RU
The new Fable from Playground Games is being developed on the ForzaTech engine, IGN reported on May 5, citing a Microsoft job listing.
The Software Engineer vacancy said the successful candidate would work with the engine on the Turn 10 team, which develops Forza, to “enrich the toolset to support an open-world action RPG — Fable.”
The role would also involve helping add new features to the engine itself, including support for ray tracing.
The listing said the work would “have a major impact on 3 AAA titles in development across 2 beloved Xbox franchises.” The journalist suggested that, alongside Turn 10’s work on Forza Motorsport, development of the next Forza Horizon could be taking place in parallel with Fable.
ForzaTech has been used to create some of the striking environments and game worlds in the Forza series, the article noted. In IGN’s view, it made sense for Microsoft to take advantage of that technology as Fable development progressed.
