EgoCore No Longer Needs a Debug Build for Fable TLC
Language: EN | RU
The most advanced modding tool for Fable: The Lost Chapters, EgoCore, no longer requires a debug build, developer AeoN (AlbionSecrets) said on August 1.
Update 1.8.2.6 removed the tool’s dependency on the version of the game with ego_r.exe and the unified debug build. These are no longer required to compile defs or install mods that previously depended on a special game build. All the necessary functions are now handled natively by EgoCore.
On first launch, the program automatically installs its own resources. After that, the game can be launched directly through EgoCore or via Fable.exe, without the additional FableLauncher.exe.
Along with dropping the debug build requirement, EgoCore received a completely redesigned main menu and mod manager interface, as well as fixes for several bugs.
EgoCore was released publicly in April. It is intended to replace the outdated Fable Explorer and CBox, while offering a much broader range of features.
AeoN, one of the most promising Fable modders, has been developing the tool since last December. Fans already know him as the creator of the large-scale Fable: Project Seasons mod (2019–2022), the Fable Script Extender (FSE) utility and the unified debug build for the first Fable.
