Game-Changing Fable Modding Tool EgoCore Goes Public
Language: EN | RU
The game-changing Fable modding tool EgoCore has entered public beta after roughly four months of development. AeoN’s (AlbionSecrets) build is available on GitHub, NexusMods and FableGame.
"For nearly two decades, Fable modding has relied on legacy tools like Fable Explorer and Chocolate Box. While foundational, these tools are limited by their age and missing functionality. EgoCore is a modern, open-source alternative designed to succeed them, offering unprecedented control over bank and asset editing," reads the brief description.
Development of EgoCore was first revealed in late December last year, when AeoN showed his work in the Fable Modder's Guild channel.
The current version, 10.4.26 (beta), offers dozens of features for modding Fable: The Lost Chapters, including recompiling the game’s archives, a def editor, audio tools, a mod manager and packager, unpacking the FinalAlbion.WAD location file, and more. Many of the program’s capabilities had long been considered impossible by modders.
EgoCore can work with any version of the game, although the developer still recommends using the unified debug build he previously created.
AeoN is the creator of the large-scale Fable: Project Seasons mod (2019–2022). In 2025, he also developed the Fable Script Extender (FSE) utility.
