Fable's Main Story Will Take About 20 Hours to Complete

The main quests in Fable (2027) will take around 15–20 hours to complete, Associate Game Director Will Kennedy said.
“We have around 15–20 hours of mainline quest gameplay, we have around 15–20 of side and open-world exploration content gameplay,” he revealed during a group Q&A session organized by Polygon.
The life-simulation systems, however, have no set length, Kennedy added. Players will be able to spend as much time with them as they want.
Fellow Associate Game Director Craig Littler echoed his comments.
“As Will just said, you can literally play it forever if that's what you want to do,” he explained.
Information about the game's length was later added to the official FAQ on its website.
A few days earlier, Gamescom 2026 featured 18 minutes of gameplay, both with and without developer commentary. The footage shows a story quest set in Bowerstone. The Hero arrives in the city after an incident in her home village of Briar Hill, meets Humphry, the head of the Heroes' Guild, and tries to help him out of debt, including by fighting local bandits.
Journalists were also able to play another demo focused on the combat system. In a different quest, the Hero and Humphry descend into a mine and fight Hollow Folk and ghosts.
Fable will be released on February 23, 2027, although players who purchase the Premium Edition or Collector's Edition will be able to start five days earlier, on February 18.
