Playground Games’ new Fable will probably launch in 2025, insider NateTheHate said on February 16.
“That was the last target [for timing] I had heard sometime last year,” he wrote on ResetEra in response to a user question.
The insider provided no further details.
In July 2020, Microsoft confirmed that a new Fable was in development at Playground Games, best known for the Forza Horizon racing series. A teaser was shown at Xbox Games Showcase 2020, after almost a decade of unconfirmed rumors.
Three years later, in June 2023, Playground showed a trailer with gameplay footage at Xbox Games Showcase 2023. At the time, it was unclear whether the game was Fable 4 or a reboot of the series. It was known that the new game was being developed on the ForzaTech engine.
