The New Fable’s Ending Will Be Serious and Make Players Think
Language: EN | RU
Meaningful player choice will remain a core part of the new Fable and will have a major impact on its ending, game director Ralph Fulton revealed.
"Most importantly, we stick the landing. It’s easy to look at industry metrics saying 100% of people start a game and only 25% finish, and decide not to invest heavily in the finale. But we relentlessly pursued quality here. In great Fable fashion, it culminates in a choice that really challenges you to think about who you are, with a real personal cost to weigh against the outcome," the developer said in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian.
For much of the game, the main quest will remain low-stakes enough for players to feel comfortable exploring Albion. However, toward the finale, they will become fully involved in the main storyline.
The developers of the Fable reboot previously promised fans plenty of choices and adventures.
In late August, Gamescom 2026 featured 18 minutes of gameplay — a playthrough of a story quest set in Bowerstone. Journalists were also able to try another demo focused on the combat system.
The game will be released on February 23, 2027 for PC, Xbox and PlayStation, although those who purchase the Premium Edition or Collector's Edition will be able to start playing five days earlier, on February 18.
