The new Fable from Playground Games will offer plenty of choices and adventures, according to a January 19 post from the game’s official account.
“Adventures? Plenty. Choices? Loads. Nervous Hobbes? We wouldn’t rule it out,” the post reads.
The developers invited players to tune in to Xbox Developer_Direct on January 22, where they had promised an in-depth look at the game. A club-wielding Hobbe appears in the corner of the reminder image.
The game has officially been in development at least since 2020. Footage was last shown in the Xbox podcast in February 2025. The game had also been scheduled for 2025, but was delayed and is now expected roughly by autumn 2026. Xbox and PS5 versions will apparently launch at the same time. The game is also likely to receive an ESRB Mature 17+ rating.
