Artist Assesses the Visual Style of the New Fable
Language: EN | RU
The visuals of the new Fable and Fable Legends are too different for a direct comparison, artist Roman Kropotov believes.
“One presents itself through stylization, the other through the capabilities of graphics technology. Each project has its own distinctive feature. Overall, I like both approaches,” artist Roman Kropotov told FableGame / Fable Universe.
He believes the next game in the series could appeal to most fans if it took something from both projects. In Roman’s view, Playground Games’ Fable reboot currently lacks that balance. Personally, he gets the impression that the developers are more focused on creating a believable image than on creating a fairytale.
In 2023, Playground said the Fable trailer used real in-game graphics. Last November, journalist Jez Corden compared an alpha build of the game to The Witcher 3.
Kropotov has been creating highly detailed artwork based on the Fable series for years, and many of his works have become widely known online. Roman also previously recreated Oakvale in Tiny Glade.
