The new Fable could be delayed again — this time to 2027, XboxEra podcast host Shpeshal Nick claimed on July 20.
“My information is that it's not going to be 2026. <...> I've heard it from two different people now that Fable may slip to 2027, and that's not "ah doom and gloom with the game, problems." Just hearing that it's taking a little bit longer than expected,” he said.
Five years earlier, in July 2020, Microsoft confirmed that a new Fable was in development at Playground Games, best known for the Forza Horizon racing series. A teaser was shown at the time, followed in summer 2023 by the first trailer featuring gameplay.
Another trailer was shown in June 2024, when the game’s original release window of 2025 was announced. In February, the game was delayed to 2026, and last month it emerged that the new Fable was planned to launch roughly by November 2026.
