The new Fable will not appear at Gamescom 2025, which runs in Cologne from August 20 to 24. More than 20 other games will be presented at the event, according to the published schedule.
Commenting on the absence, a Gamereactor journalist asked whether it was time to “start officially worrying about Fable.”
“For now, all we can do is wait, but Microsoft's silence is giving more and more fans the feeling that Fable is still far from complete,” the article states. Its author even raised the possibility that the project could ultimately be cancelled.
Earlier, in late July, XboxEra podcast host Shpeshal Nick claimed that Fable could be delayed again — this time to 2027.
In February, Fable was delayed to 2026, and in June it emerged that the game was planned to launch roughly by November 2026.
