Long-awaited information about the new Fable will arrive in January 2026, Windows Central editor Jez Corden wrote on X on October 9. According to him, players “should get a nice update in January.”
A couple of days earlier, insider Klobrille wrote on the same platform that Playground Games’ headcount had grown to 455 people in 2024, up from 381 in 2023.
In February, Fable was delayed to 2026, and in June it emerged that the game was planned to launch roughly by November 2026. In late July, XboxEra podcast host Shpeshal Nick claimed Fable could be delayed again — this time to 2027.
Before those developments, Corden had seen an alpha build of the game: he called it fantastic and compared it to The Witcher 3. The journalist also described the project as extremely expensive to develop.
