Gameplay from the new Fable could be shown again as early as December, journalist Jez Corden wrote in a follow-up to his previous prediction.
In his view, it could happen at one of the next major events: The Game Awards on December 11 and/or January’s Developer_Direct.
“We could see new gameplay of Fable, State of Decay 3, or even reveals of as-of-yet-unknown titles. Then, moving into January, we have the expected Developer_Direct. I think it is here we'll most likely see some of Xbox's heavy hitters for 2026, including Fable,” Corden wrote in a Windows Central article.
Earlier this month, Corden had already written on social media that players would receive a “good update” on Playground Games’ Fable in January 2026.
The new Fable has officially been in development at least since 2020. Footage was last shown in the Xbox podcast in February 2025. The game had been planned for release that year, but was delayed and is now expected roughly by autumn 2026.
