The new Fable is expected to launch on Xbox and PlayStation 5 at the same time, according to Video Games Chronicle editor Andy Robinson.
“Day and date <...> that's what I’ve been told,” he said in a podcast on January 9.
Robinson stressed that he was not 100% certain. He said the PS5 version is in development and expects the two versions to launch together. At the same time, insiders can be wrong and some plans “a bit more set in stone”, while other details can change a week or even a day before release.
“Yes, it’s coming to PS5. I'd expect it to be day and date [with Xbox], because I know they’ve been targeting PS5 for a while,” Robinson explained.
Journalist Jez Corden spoke about a PS5 release for Fable in late 2024. Spanish outlet Vandal and insider NateTheHate later also said the two console versions were planned to launch simultaneously.
The new Fable has officially been in development at least since 2020. Footage was last shown in the Xbox podcast in February 2025. The game had been planned for release that year, but was delayed and is now expected roughly by autumn 2026.
