Lionhead Had a Pitch for Fable IV, Peter Molyneux Says
Language: EN | RU
Lionhead Studios had a proposition for Fable 4 as far back as 2012, former series designer Peter Molyneux has revealed.
“It was the thought of moving through time a little bit more, a little bit further,” he said in a new Eurogamer interview on February 12.
Until then, the now-closed studio had followed the idea that Fable’s world was moving toward technology that increasingly suppressed magic.
The concept was documented in a pitch, but Molyneux does not know what happened to it afterward. He was no longer involved after leaving the studio, although he assumes the material was shown to Microsoft.
Fans spent years waiting for Fable 4, but despite repeated rumors about its development, the game never materialized. Molyneux left Lionhead Studios in 2012, and Microsoft closed the studio in 2016. In 2020, instead of a fourth numbered game, Microsoft announced a project with a completely different concept — the new Fable from Playground Games.
