Xbox head Asha Sharma wanted Fable to remain an Xbox console exclusive, insider Double-Barrel Gaming claimed on June 10.
He said he had heard from unofficial sources that Sharma wanted to cancel the PlayStation 5 port.
However, the cost of terminating the agreement would have been too high, so the deal with Sony remained in place, the blogger said in his video.
A few days earlier, a new Fable trailer was shown at Xbox Games Showcase 2026. It revealed several story spoilers, including a Hero antagonist named Isabel, a battle in Glushville and even the return of Jack of Blades.
The showcase also confirmed the final release date of February 23, 2027, the game’s editions and prices, system requirements and cast, and announced its first DLC. There will be no official Russian localization.
